This track serves as the first glimpse into her forthcoming EP, «Heads or Tales», set for release in late spring 2025. Co-written with Hal Lindes, legendary Dire Straits guitarist and longtime collaborator, «Daddy» seamlessly intertwines atmospheric acoustic dream-pop with modern folk, further cementing Bird’s reputation as a one-woman powerhouse in music. «This is a love song. However, it’s not about how much love someone feels, but how little. How a fundamental lack of love at a young age can create a driving need to achieve—one that may result in great financial or worldly success, but can never fill the void where tenderness should have been… It’s about how that void can travel through generations, subtly mutating along the way, causing repeated chains of negative events that are almost impossible to break.»
