“Al cielo, con timidez, pedí valor para sobrellevar el revés que el
destino escribió”.

Swedish tenor Ivanhoe released “Más allá del mar” on February 21, 2026 —an ambitious multi-release uniting musicians from eight countries: Chile, Spain, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Ukraine, Sweden, Tunisia, and Brazil.

The project features six unique vocal versions and two instrumental tracks, blending the power of a classical tenor voice with an instrumentation that bridges tradition and modernity: violin, viola, Spanish guitar, and synthesizers of contemporary opera pop.

Created in collaboration with Chilean composer Cristian Escalona and producer Mario Díaz Bliachas, “Más allá del mar” is more than a ballad—it’s a journey across crystal-clear waters in search of a fading memory, a meditation on leaving past wounds behind and finding light in darkness. As its lyrics state: “Al cielo, con timidez, pedí valor para sobrellevar el revés que el destino escribió”. (Spanish)

Más allá del mar • A Musical Odyssey in Six Acts

Rather than offering a single interpretation, Ivanhoe presents the piece as a multidimensional experience. The six versions range from the cinematic to the minimalist, exploring styles from orchestral pop and baroque pop to modern synth-pop. Each rendition reveals new emotional layers and sonic textures, inviting the listener to rediscover the composition again and again.

Live Instrumentation and Global Harmony

At the heart of the production lies international sonic craftsmanship. Ivanhoe carefully gathered musicians from around the world to infuse organic warmth into the electronic foundation.

  • Classical strings: violin and viola weave melancholic yet hopeful tones, blending classical and Latin traditions.
  • Spanish guitar: adds authentic warmth and connects deeply with the song’s lyrical roots.

This approach not only enriches the musical texture but also carries profound symbolism: musicians from war-torn Ukraine collaborate with artists from South America, Europe, and North Africa, embodying the song’s central message—finding courage amid the storm and unity in diversity.

“Más allá del mar” is a work of profound artistic richness and emotional depth, unfolded across eight versions that celebrate diverse approaches without losing cohesion.

From orchestral pop to contemporary baroque and atmospheric synth-pop, each interpretation reveals a distinct facet of the composition, always anchored by a tenor voice that balances strength and vulnerability. The vocal versions stand out for a delivery that doesn’t just interpret—but embodies—the poetic essence of the work, elevating its message with every phrase.

Technically, the production is impeccable. The mixing and mastering create a crisp, enveloping, ethereal, and immersive listening experience, with layered soundscapes that build a spatial atmosphere without sacrificing clarity. The dynamic range is carefully balanced, frequencies harmonize seamlessly, and there are no harsh edges—everything flows naturally, inviting comforting listening on any audio system.

But beyond technique, what moves us is the collective intention: this is not a solo endeavor, but an act of sonic brotherhood. In a fractured world, “Más allá del mar” reminds us that art can be a bridge, a refuge, and a beacon.

It’s a song that moves us, unites us, and restores our faith in the beauty of humanity.

«Our most sincere congratulations to tenor Ivanhoe and to his entire production team and musicians who made this majestic work possible.»
