A song that doesn’t just comfort —it walks beside you, hand on your shoulder, saying: “It’ll be alright.”

Folk Rock From New Jersey•With Heart, Grit, and Grace

Joe Kocher —a storyteller shaped by the quiet struggles of everyday life— releases the 2025 reimagined version of “It’ll Be Alright”, a song born from personal loss, communal healing, and the quiet power of faith. Recorded at Lakehouse Recording Studios in Asbury Park, NJ, and produced by James Maddock, this new rendition trades minimalism for momentum —embracing folk-rock energy in the choruses and closing with a soaring electric guitar solo that feels like sunrise after the longest night. Rooted in the soil of the Garden State, Joe Kocher’s sound is a defining voice in the rising wave of New Jersey Folk Rock —where storytelling meets grit, and hope has a backbeat.

Joe Kocher•A Life in Song

Based in Brick, New Jersey, Joe Kocher has spent years writing and performing songs that speak to the heart of American life: resilience, connection, and quiet courage. His music —raw, honest, deeply human —has always been a lifeline, both for himself and for his listeners.

After 15 years in San José, California —where he released two albums and a single via Rowena Records— Joe returned home to New Jersey in 2024. There, he reunited with his roots —and assembled a dream rhythm section: Aaron Comess (Spin Doctors) on drums and John Conte (Asbury Park Jukes) on bass.

“My daily goal is to write a better song than the one before,” says Joe.
“Not for fame. Not for charts. But because music —and family —are my anchors.”

It’ll Be Alright•More Than a Song —A Lifeline

“It’ll Be Alright” is deeply personal. It speaks to addiction, recovery, and the search for hope —not as abstract themes, but as lived realities. Joe wrote it thinking of loved ones who struggled —and of the quiet strength it takes to reach out, to heal, to say: “You’re not alone.”

His own refuge? HOPE Sheds Light, Inc. —a nonprofit recovery center in Toms River, NJ, that supports families navigating addiction. Joe hopes the song becomes a beacon —not just for those in recovery, but for those who love them.

Review by Indie Valley Music

“‘It’ll Be Alright’ (2025 Version) is a masterful evolution —a folk/folk-rock track that feels energetic, melodic, harmonious, fresh, and deeply captivating. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, instantly connecting with the listener —a signature of contemporary folk at its most authentic.”

The instrumentation flows naturally alongside the vocal, creating a powerful synergy and musical harmony. Guitar work, rhythmic elements, and subtle layers enhance the emotional depth without overwhelming it. The structure remains dynamic and coherent —holding attention while elevating melodic and lyrical moments with grace.”

“Lyrically and compositionally, it’s remarkable —inviting reflection, radiating genuine comfort. Joe doesn’t just sing —he testifies. The production, mixing, and mastering are executed with first-rate care —resulting in a sound that’s deep, crisp, and immersive. Every element breathes, every voice resonates, every note lands with intention. This isn’t just polished —it’s profoundly alive.”

“This 2025 version —a reimagining of the original from ‘Stand On Up’— trades some of its earlier minimalism for folk-rock energy, especially in the choruses. The electric guitar solo at the close isn’t just a flourish —it’s a declaration. Hope isn’t whispered here —it’s sung loud. And in that shift, the song finds its truest self: an essence more vibrant, uplifting, alive with the promise of healing. It’s an honor to share this reinvented release from Joe Kocher.”
